Sunday Dinner and Discussion - Revolutionary Mark
| September 13, 2009 | ||
| 6:30 pm | to | 9:00 pm |
We will begin our Sunday night dinner and discussion this Sunday, September 13. Our study will be on the gospel of Mark, considered to be the oldest existing account of the life of Jesus. Our study will be on the level of historical significance, contemporary applicability and how this gospel promotes a theme of revolutionary change in the world. Night Prayer will take place at 8:30

The Gospel of Mark is strange.
the stories seem all mixed up - like Crash
and John the Baptist borders on
lady gaga weirdness. The pharisees
keep interrupting in inappropriate times
and it appears that Bart or bartholomew
is actually a biblical name (according to chap 3)
Jesus even gets accused of being
Satan. I do think
the man being carried through roof
is a great picture of friendship, dedication,
and faith.
I don’t understand Matt 2:27 “the sabbath was made
for man, and not man for the sabbath”
…
that is all.
